VFX Overrides are most useful when you want to apply VFX only to certain Special Effects. In that case, leave the Main VFX field blank and enter VFX Overrides only for the selected Special Effects.
It can also be used to apply different VFX than Main VFX for selected Special Effects but you must keep in mind that additional VFX with mesh sampling cost additional performance.
